Opportunity
Design and implement a water treatment system capable of effectively reducing pollutants associated with mining activities at the Brule Mine to meet or exceed regulatory discharge standards while ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.
Solution
In partnership with Integrated Sustainability, Juno provided specialized Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) design and engineering services for a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) Water Treatment Plant.
- Implemented advanced MBBR technology
using biofilm-coated carriers within aeration
tanks to enhance the biological degradation
of contaminants. - Tailored the EI&C systems to handle the unique wastewater characteristics of the Brule Mine.
- Integrated with real-time monitoring for optimal performance and ease of operation.
- Achieved a modular approach to allow for
future expansion to accommodate increased treatment demands. - As Engineer of Record for BC Building Permit Schedules B and C, provided code-compliant design and thorough field reviews to support permit approvals.
Our Role
Electrical Design & Engineering
- Developed comprehensive electrical systems to power the MBBR plant efficiently.
- Ensured compliance with all relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Designed reliable power distribution networks to support continuous operation.
Instrumentation & Controls Design
- Implemented advanced instrumentation systems for precise monitoring of water treatment processes.
- Integrated automated control systems with real-time monitoring for optimal performance and ease of operation.
