Brent Nagy is a highly experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer with extensive expertise in instrumentation, controls, measurement, and analytics. With over two decades of industry experience, he brings a unique combination of hands-on field knowledge and advanced engineering design skills to Juno Engineering.
Brent holds a diploma in Industrial Instrumentation Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), along with a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician Certificate, a Fourth-Class Power Engineering Certificate and a Process Operator Certificate from SIAST. In recognition of his technical expertise and leadership, he has earned Professional Licensee Engineer (P.L. Eng.) designations with APEGA, APEGS, and EGBC.
His career has spanned roles in both industrial and office settings, where he has contributed significantly to large-scale engineering projects. As the founder of Nagy Instrumentation & Controls Inc., Brent has served as a Senior Instrumentation Engineering Consultant for various clients, leading complex projects across multiple sectors, including CO2 capture, hydrogen energy, and biosynthetic fuels. His work has involved engineering design services, instrumentation selection and sizing, HAZOP/LOPA participation, and overseeing project scope, schedule, and budget management.
Originally from Flin Flon, Manitoba, Brent spent his formative years in Melfort, Saskatchewan, where he attended school from kindergarten through Grade 12. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys staying active by going to the gym, hiking in the mountains, motorcycling, and spending time at an indoor handgun club. He also enjoys taking his dog, Cleveland, to local dog parks.
Brent values integrity, authenticity, and strong character in both his personal and professional life. In addition to his engineering career, he is currently working on innovative consumer product inventions and is focused on continuing to develop his expertise in controls and automation. His commitment to learning and professional growth makes him an invaluable asset to Juno Engineering as he helps mentor the next generation of engineers while driving innovation in instrumentation and design.
