Position

As an entry-level designer/drafter at Juno, you’ll support essential design and drafting tasks across various projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals ready to develop technical skills, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and grow within a company that prioritizes mentorship and learning.

Key Responsibilities

As a valued member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and automation schematics
  • Prepare, update, and organize technical drawings and documents, applying your skills in design software to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Work with electrical, instrumentation, and controls teams to help integrate electrical and instrumentation designs into comprehensive project plans.
  • Participate in occasional site visits to gain exposure to real-world applications and support installation teams.
  • Uphold Juno’s standards for accuracy, safety, and compliance across all project deliverables.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of low-voltage distribution, control systems, and basic safety practices.
  • Experience or coursework in design software, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), with the ability to apply these skills in producing clear, accurate technical documents.

This position will require you to:

  • Work accurately and efficiently, with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Work well with team members and clearly communicate ideas and information.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and professional development in a collaborative environment.
  • Handle multiple tasks and prioritize progress in a fast-paced setting.

Desirable assets include:

  • Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and general industry standards.
  • Basic experience with drafting or analytical software like AutoCAD and Bluebeam or ETAP.
  • Internship or co-op experience in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Knowledge of control systems or instrumentation concepts.

Location and Travel Requirements

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with flexible remote work options available. Occasional travel for site visits may be required.
